Winterslow vs. Totton & Eling
Report supplied by Steve Cummings
Match report 13/05/10
Last weeks defeat
was only a minor blip as Totton & Eling stormed back with a Thunderous defeat of
Winterslow
.With the memory
of Wellow forgotten the lads batted first and after losing George to his first
ball.{leave the wides George] and Jack to a good one the 2 Ollie's set
about building a total that we could defend.
A superb stand
developed and with some excellent running the score soon stormed past 50
unfortunately just as Ollie H was motoring he had to retire with a not out score
of 32
But this was only
a temporary reprieve for winterslow as Dan Williams started to punish some slack
bowling with some impressive strikes which led to him having to retire with a
score of 30.
All this time
Ollie M was playing a captains innings rotating the strike and keeping
everything ticking over!
For the last
couple of overs there was storm about to brew, and that was Rory who had been
biting at the bit to get out there since the start. He decided that he wasn't
going to hang about and destroyed the bowling attack with two massive sixes in a
quickfire 19.
The innings then
ended with Ollie M not out on 26 in a good total of 126..
In reply
Winterslow got of to a shaky start with Matt and Charlie picking up early
wickets in a dominant spell which left us in a commanding position.Slowly winterslow
got themselves back into the game with some bad bowling habits starting to creep
in.
But with a timely
good few overs from Ben and Ollie winterslow fell behind the rate and never
recovered allowing us to record our first win of the season and as i have been
told for some of our lads the first win in nearly 2 years!..Well done
