Report supplied by Adam Carty

Pylewell Park Under 9's vs Totton & Eling Under 9's
Friday 18th June; 6.30pm
Pylewell Park, South Baddesley, Lymington
T&E's Team M. Mayer, M. Clark, A. Laughland, B. Young, J. Alp, L. Carty, E. Taylor, R. Dibben.
Under grey, threatening clouds, within the grounds of an idyllic country manor and on the best prepared track of the season T&E's under 9's fought their way to a well deserved and first away victory of the season! The margin of victory was slender but the deserved nature of the outcome was overwhelming as the words "team" and "discipline" shone through from the 8 young men who demonstrated both confidence and competency throughout the game. Having won the toss Calypso Mayer chose to bat which proved to be the best toss win of the season as it bought some time for batting talisman Ethan Taylor to arrive late and subsequently go on to produce the most accomplished and swashbuckling knock of the under 9 season. ET was the difference between two evenly balanced teams during the T&E innings scoring an individual 29 in a total of (2)53. Once again every boy contributed to the innings with Mayer, Laughland & Dibben offering the greatest stroke making support to Taylor. The game was ultimately won during the 16 batting overs of PP. T&E bowled really well and fielded even better. And it was T&E who repeatedly came out on top during the key moments of the PP innings with wickets, catches, important run outs and a generous piece of last ball umpiring from the PP representative that proved the miserly 3 run difference come stumps. Taylor & Dibben combined to bring T&E's first caught behind dismissal of the season and three very mature and accomplished run outs from the teamwork of Liam Carty (2) & Ryan Dibben and the cool Billy Young with the third! Pylewell stuck to their task and found themselves requiring 8 to win from the final over of the match to win. Carty bowled a fine final over and with the support of his capable fielders who never put a foot wrong amidst the pressure of the final 5 minutes; T&E came away deserved three run winners! Well done to both teams for a competitive and perfectly conducted performance.
