Totton & Eling Colts

Totton & Eling Cricket Club have a thriving colts section made up of over 50 young cricketers aged from 6 to 15 years. The colts meet to practice on a Monday evening (6pm until 7.30pm) from early May until mid-July at the club’s home ground in Southern Gardens. Structured & organised coaching is provided by fully qualified club coaches who provide the boys and girls with the tools to progress their cricketing knowledge and skills in a fun, safe and progressive environment. T&E’s coaching programme is designed to ensure that children receive appropriately delivered instruction & guidance in order for them to feel comfortable to progress and learn with children of similar ability and understanding for the game. We welcome young cricketers of all abilities.

2014 Competition Summary

2014 was positive season for the T&E colts section. Our under 9 team won the New Forest North Division as well as coming out on top in the New Forest under 9 Cup final. Our under 11s had a great season losing only one of seven league matches resulting in attaining the runners up position in their respective league. T&E under 13s won the North Division title and backed that up with success in the New Forest League Grand Final. T&E under 15s came a credible 3rd in a competitive NF North league whilst our under 17s (age group not competing in 2015) finished comfortably in the top half of their district wide league. More importantly, the boys and girls who represented the club did so with much respect and appreciation for the strong values of the game and our club and thoroughly enjoyed themselves in the process.

T&E also take great pride in the number of young cricketers that represented both the District (New Forest) & County (Hampshire) in 2014. 11 boys in total took to the field as a representative cricketer in 2014 and early indicators suggest that this number will be eclipsed in the coming season…
